Regular cheap flights from many European airports to Wroclaw

Wlen is a town approximately 75 km (50 miles) south west of Wroclaw airport and 100 km(65 miles) east of Dresden airport. Cars can be hired from Wroclaw airport (eg https://www.micar.pl/new/en/enform.php) and regular buses and trains run from Wroclaw train station to Jelenia Gora and on to Wlen. The drive from the airport takes about 90 minutes.

 

Driving from England – Stena Lina operate services from Harwich to Hook of Holland. An overnight sailing at midnight arrives in Holland at 7.30am the next day. A good route is via Utrecht, Dortmund, Kassel, Leipzig then Dresden. Please allow approx. 10 hours of actual driving time plus rest stops. It is not recommended to arrive very late in the evening due to the remoteness of the cottage. An alternative is to go via the English Channel but please allow 12 to13 hours of driving from Calais.

 

Driving from Northern Europe – the E40 from Dresden to Gorlitz will be the best place to cross the Polish border. Route from Gorlitz/Zgorzelec (German/Polish border)– follow road 30 to Luban then Gryfow Ślaski, Lubomierz, Wojciechow and Wlen. The nearest town is Wleń (formerly Lähn).
